Books for Autumn

It's taken me all day to write this post!  Someone doesn't know that nap time should have happened over an hour ago!  I guess when you're two months old you're allowed to make your own schedule.
Book Blogger Hop
A huge "Thank you!" to Jennifer at Crazy for Books for coordinating the hop, and another "Thank you!" to Soon Remembered Tales for hosting this week!

If you're visiting Kate's Library for the first time, welcome!  I hope you decide to stick around.  I review mainly literary and historical fiction - with a few other things thrown in for fun.  Make sure to leave a comment so I can return the visit!

Our question this week:
With autumn upon us and Halloween drawing near, what books remind you of fall?  What ones do you enjoy reading that are about autumn?
I love this question because my brain works in seasons.  I have seasonal playlists (my "autumn" list has lots of 90's rock... basically stuff that reminds me of high school), coffee mugs (my favorite has a jack-o-lantern with little fangs.  Adorable.), candles (spiced pumpkin), you name it!  Autumn is hands down my favorite season.

I'm not sure I have any books specifically about autumn that I like to read.  I do, however, have a short list of books that really remind me of autumn.  It's funny because I've read many books during September-November, but there are certain ones that stick out as specifically "autumn".

Little Women - my first go at this book was in the autumn.
Memoirs of a Geisha - I was reading this on the plane during my honeymoon, September, 2005.
Dracula - Duh.  It's a perfect autumnal read.
The Legend of Sleep Hollow - Another perfect autumnal read, also one of the first books I blogged about!
Alias Grace - Another one of the first books here at Kate's Library - and yes, it was during the fall!

Looking forward to reading your favorite fall reads!
