Thanks, Becky!

How lovely to wake up in the morning - sleepy and blindly pouring coffee - only to discover a happy award!

Many thanks to Becky at Escapism Through Books! I love the title of her blog because that's exactly how I feel about my reading. Make sure to check her out if you have not done so already!

Being a teacher (even though it's summer I can't escape the teacher inside of me!) I'm always appreciative of the rules! So, here they are...

  • Thank and link back to the award giver. Done and done!
  • List 7 things about yourself. See below... done!
  • Pass the award on to 15 other bloggers you've recently discovered, or who you think are great. How about 5? Rules are meant to be broken, right? :)
  • Notify the bloggers and let them know they've been awarded. Done!
I know you're dying to hear about my 7 things...

When Rachel at 1001 Books gave me this award back in June I was a little serious in my 7 things. So this time I'm going for 7 quirky things about me!

1. Although I can be a bit of a slob - especially my car - my work is always very organized. My desk is a mess, but on my computer I have google tasks running, and spreadsheets for every possible thing I'm tracking with my students (T-shirt orders, field trip slips, etc.). It's kind of an organized chaos - in a clutter kind of way, not a rottingfoodonthecountertop kind of way.

2. I don't like the food on my plate to touch unless it's "supposed to" (like sour cream and baked potato). I would be a fan of restaurants using plastic partitioned trays.

3. I'm really into smells - as in Yankee Candle. I like to find the perfect scent to match the season. Spiced Pumpkin in my absolute favorite for fall, and Sparkling Lemon for the spring!

4. I need coffee in the morning - it's not even to wake-up... it's just necessary to feel human.

5. I prefer open windows to AC, especially in the car. I will never have another car without a sunroom for this reason.

6. I always have a song bouncing around in my head. Sometimes Dennis will see my fingers moving and ask "What are you playing?" to which I will reply "The first movement to Bach's G Major cello suite".

7. I'm really bad about remembering dates. Birthdays, anniversaries, all that. It's not that I don't care - it's that I just can't remember. I've tried using calendar reminders but they don't work because I look at the reminder, and it's quickly gone from my brain.

Here are some newly discovered blogs I'd like to pass the award on to!

Baja Greenawalt's Cozy Book Nook

Always With A Book

Dancing Matilda

Fresh off the Shelf

Lucky Number 13

  2. Thanks for thinking of Mrs. BG, Kate!
hahah-- my hubby constantly plays music with his fingers too-- usually rock-- he is drummer and guitar player. I thought he was just nervous but he said there is always a song in his head.
