About Kate

I'm a reader.  Obviously - the title of this blog is "Kate's Library".  I'm horrible at writing bios, so here are some facts about me:

  • I live in Southern New Hampshire with my husband and our two boys (ages 6 and 2).
  • I'm married to my "high school sweetheart".
  • I work as an orchestra director in Massachusetts.  My primary role is high school orchestra director.  I also run our 4th grade orchestra program at our 4 elementary schools.  I love my job!
  • I play the viola and perform in a string quartet.  We do lots of weddings!  I got to play at the wedding of Robert De Niro's daughter - although I didn't know it until after the ceremony!
  • I didn't become a hardcore reader until I was finished with college - I think that was the first time I was able to read for pleasure without trying to anticipate what will be asked of me on a test.
  • I will read any genre.  My reading tastes are wide and I'm willing to try anything!
  • I got into reading comics a few years ago and it's one of the best decisions I've made in my reading life!
Thank you so much for visiting!  I don't think I have anything profound to say about the books I read, but I love writing (throughout my entire adult life I've kept a "book journal"), and I love sharing great titles with the people in my life. This blog has been a fun way for me to make my book journal public and talk about books with all of you.  I hope you decide to stay and read about books and life!  Check out my links to Facebook and Instagram - I'm active on both!
